Carmel-based Orbis Education has announced plans to expand its corporate office. The healthcare education company is not disclosing financial details of the expansion, but says record employee growth has necessitated the move.
The company has added nearly 100 employees over the past year and a half, and a spokesperson tells Inside INdiana Business plans are in place to add 100 more in the next year. Orbis currently leases the entire fourth floor of the One Penn Mark Plaza in Carmel, and will lease space on the building’s eighth floor as part of the expansion.
"We have adopted a more centralized strategy and are creating space for employees who frequently travel and previously did not have permanent desks at the corporate office, " said Steve Hodownes, chief executive officer of Orbis.
Orbis develops hybrid programs with interactive e-learning platforms aimed at educating students on healthcare fundamentals and theories. The company also funds, develops, and equips state-of-the-art facilities that include labs to replicate clinical settings.
Orbis has partnered with several universities, including Marian University in Indianapolis, Loyola University Chicago, and Xavier University.
