Hawthorne Community Center in Indianapolis has hired Elaine Dillahunt as deputy director. She has more than 30 years of experience in community programs and services, most recently as superintendent of operations at Indy Parks and Recreation. During her tenure at Indy Parks, Dillahunt held a variety of positions including interim director. She graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Dillahunt is also a graduate of the Indiana University Executive Development Program and the Oglebay Revenue Sources Management School. She received the Mayor’s Performance Award from then-Mayor Greg Ballard in 2012, the National Parks and Recreation Association’s Excellence in Aquatics Award and the Best Community Center Manager from Aquatics International.
