Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Fan Festival Coming to Indy

White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis is set to host the inaugural Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Fan Festival. The event, celebrating the popular mobile game, will run from August 31 to September 1.
The game, which comes from the creators of Pokémon GO, is a real-world augmented reality experience centered around the Harry Potter Wizarding World. Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is co-developed and co-published by Niantic, Inc. and WB Games, who is a partner in the festival.
In a statement on the Niantic Labs website, Michael Steranka, senior marketing manager of Global Live Events says:
“Real-world events are truly special moments for Niantic games. They encourage adventurers of all kinds to come together, explore new cities, get a bit of exercise and make some new friends along the way. Tens of thousands of fans celebrate together, experiencing the magic of real-world AR games in new and innovative ways. There really is no better way to experience real-world AR games, and we can’t wait to create something special for all you witches and wizards out there later this summer.”
Steranka says details have not yet been made public, however updates will be released on the Wizards Unite Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram or at the Wizards Unite website.
