Newhouser has spent the last seven years at Harrison, most recently serving as a general education adjunct professor.
Harrison says in his new role, Newhouser will "provide strategic vision and leadership to the academic affairs staff" and lead the development of campus faculty. He will also help faculty and students with the transition to the college’s new campus in downtown Lafayette.
"Our new facility has upgraded classrooms equipped with new technology and more space, allowing Jason more opportunities to challenge our faculty and students to utilize the space to its full potential," said Cindy Clampitt, campus president of Harrison College in Lafayette. "Jason is a motivated and enthusiastic leader in the classroom, and I believe his experience is a great asset to us."
Newhouser has also spent the last 14 years as an English, speech and theater teacher at Jefferson High School in Lafayette.
