The Hancock Economic Development Council announced its leadership for 2016. Steven Long, president and chief executive officer of Hancock Regional Hospital, will serve as president of the organization.

Karen Deno of MIBOR was elected vice president. Jeffrey Somers of Ameriana Bank was named treasurer and Michael Fruth of Greenfield Utilities will serve as secretary.

At its annual meeting this week, the organization said over 830 new jobs came to Hancock County last year along with $160 million in investments. The job numbers do not count the thousands of retained jobs, according to the HEDC.
