Officials in Hammond will Tuesday break ground on the final portion of the Oxbow Landing Development. Mayor Tom McDermott says the final project is a 14,000-square-foot Class-A office building that is the “perfect example of high-quality progress that so many communities seek.”

The office building will have three floors and a terraced roof. McDermott says the city initially invested $20 million in Oxbow Landing, which has been several years in the making, though the cost of the new building was not specified.

The city has developed the property along with ATG Real Estate Development LLC, which has moved its headquarters to Oxbow Landing.

“Mayor McDermott has assembled a dedicated leadership team who are able to not only help identify development opportunities, but to help strategize potential incentive programs and deal structures to help convert concepts into reality,” Eric Gastevich, founding director of ATG, said in a news release.

The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 1:30 on Tuesday. The city did not provide an estimated time frame for the building’s completion.
