The Hammond Redevelopment Commission has approved a plan from Hobart-based ATC Real Estate Development LLC for a $5.5 million office building. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report the company says it already has some tenants lined up for the development. The commission has approved a $1.6 million incentive for the project. The facility would be on a 3.5-acre site at the city's Oxbow Landing.

The incentive is dependent on multiple conditions, including construction beginning by April 15. Construction is expected to be complete by July 2016.

ATC is not releasing the names of the companies interested in the development.
