Hammond Data Center Lands Major Client

The Digital Crossroad data center in Hammond has secured what it says is a top 10 Content Delivery Network client. While details of the client company are not being release, Chief Strategy Officer John Greenwood calls the news a “great win” for the data center, which opened in November.
Digital Crossroad says the 105,000-square-foot DX-1 data center met all of the company’s requirements for security, network connectivity, scale, flexibility and reliability.
“Having a marquee edge computing firm place their trust and mission-critical IT infrastructure in our data center validates the hard work our team put in to making this site the go-to data center destination in the Chicagoland market,” Greenwood said in a news release.
The $40 million data center was built at the site of the former State Line Generating Plant in the Lake County city. when the facility opened, officials said it would employ about 17 workers with plans to add staff as it signs more leases.
