Indianapolis-based Hallowell Consulting LLC, a government relations and communications consulting firm,  has hired Sabra Northam as vice president. She is an attorney with nearly 14 years of experience in legislative and executive branch lobbying and government relations. Prior to her new role, Northam was an associate attorney and member of the Government Services and Finance Department in Barnes & Thornburg’s Indianapolis office.

Before joining Barnes & Thornburg, she gained experience as a legislative liaison with the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council. Northam also served as the assistant director for government relations for Indiana University, Public Affairs and Government Relations.

She is the recipient of the Indiana Lawyer’s Leadership in the Law award, the Best Lawyers Ones to Watch award, and a finalist for the 2021 Best and Brightest award. Northam is admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana.

She earned her J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and graduated from Butler University with a B.A. in political science. Northam serves as secretary of the Indiana Leadership Forum and was a member of the ILF class of 2013. She is also a Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series 2015-2016 graduate and serves as a member of the board. Northam is also a member of the Downtown GOP Club Board, the IndyBar Government Practice Section Executive Committee, and Cornerstone Lutheran Church.
