Subscribe NowNew York-based Hachette Book Group plans to add up to 130 jobs in Lebanon after receiving approval Monday for tax incentives from the redevelopment commission and city council. Boone County Economic Development Corp. Executive Director Molly Whitehead says the additional workers will make Hachette Book Group one of the county’s largest private employers.
The company currently occupies nearly two million square-feet of space in the Lebanon Business Park. The book publisher and distributor will spread the new employees over its three Boone County facilities and install new equipment, but Whitehead says Hachette will not be adding space. Hachette has expanded five times at the business park in the 20 years it has been a tenant. In January, it grew by more than 400,000 square-feet. Whitehead tells Inside INdiana Business the growth "speaks to the quality of the park and of Lebanon’s pro-business government."
Hachette also has locations in Massachusetts and Tennessee.
