Group to Restore Fort Wayne’s Foster Park Pavilion

Forces have joined together to restore Foster Park Pavilion No. 3 in Fort Wayne. Friends of the Parks of Allen County and Fort Wayne Parks will work to restore the historic stone pavilion in the Foster Park Oak Grove that was built in 1938 by the federal Works Progress Administration.
The restoration work includes a new paved trail connecting the pavilion to the Foster Park walking loop, landscaping, and accessibility improvements.
“Our organization has a long-standing interest in Foster Park,” said Ed Welling, President of Friends of the Parks of Allen County, “and we are excited to be able to act on that interest by participating as a key partner in this project to return Pavilion No. 3 to its proper role and beauty in the park."
A gift from the Oldenkamp family has allowed Friends of the Parks of Allen County to partner with the city to restore the pavilion. More fundraising efforts will soon be announced.
