Groundbreaking set for innovation center in Evansville

The University of Evansville and the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. will break ground Monday on the planned Innovation Center for Science and Health.
The facility will located at the site of the former Welborn Clinic in downtown Evansville.
Few details on the project were made available, but the schools said they plan to use the state-of-the-art facility “to expand innovative learning opportunities for local high school and college students in science, health care, and medical fields.”
EVSC Superintendent David Smith and UE President Christopher Pietruszkiewicz will be joined by other school officials for the groundbreaking ceremony, which is scheduled for 11 a.m. local time.
