Janeen Sprague, chief executive officer of Columbus-based Sprague Hotel Developers, says the groundbreaking for the 92-room Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton solidifies a partnership with Hilton and the city of Franklin.
The hotel will be located just off the I-65 and King Street interchange in the Franklin Gateway Development. Carmel-based CTI Construction LLC is leading the construction effort.
"With Franklin’s economic growth and its investment in the King Street interchange, we feel that this hotel is well positioned to service the key business travel segment and Franklin’s growing business base," said Sprague. "Additionally, we look forward to serving Franklin College and its visiting sports teams, students, and parents. We are proud to be a part of the new gateway to Franklin at Exit 90 and look forward to providing the signature Hampton service to those who are traveling to the area, whether for business or leisure."
Construction on the hotel is expected to be complete by October 2019.
