Lafayette-based real estate development firm Iron Men Properties will break ground Tuesday on Element 26 Apartments, a 78-unit complex near Columbian Park in Lafayette.
The $19 million project is designed to address what the firm says is a growing demand for housing in the area.
The developer says the complex will also include a state-of-the-art fitness center, rooftop patio and parking garage. It will be located in close proximity to downtown Lafayette.
The project is being funded with the help of $6.5 million in incentives from the state’s Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative, as well as the Lafayette Redevelopment Commission and redevelopment tax credits.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Construction is expected to be complete by July 2026.
Iron Men Properties has a history of development in Indiana. The firm also developed the Interurban Apartments in Delphi, as well as the Nickel Plate Flats in Frankfort, among others.
