The memorial will feature memorial bricks in one area, along with memorial benches and other honors featured throughout. The city says it will "provide a place for the community to witness the scope and depth of Greenwood’s continued gratitude to veterans, police, fire and EMT personnel of the entire Greater Greenwood area."
Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers will join the Greenwood Veterans Memorial Committee and Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory for the groundbreaking ceremony, which is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. at the corner of Surina Way and Meridian Street.
