Greenwood-based Wessels Co., a manufacturer of tanks and pressure vessels for a variety of industries, is investing more than $10 million to grow operations at its Tiffin, Ohio campus.
The company is building a new factory that will expand its pressure vessel manufacturing capabilities and add more than 40 jobs.
The more than 57,000-square-foot facility will be leased by Wessel parent National Machinery Group Global LLC. In addition to the manufacturing space, the building will provide office space and restroom facilities, the company said.
“The need of the new and larger facility is for our growth,” Wessels President Jim Fuller said in a statement to Inside INdiana Business. “Our vessels are being used more for data centers, so with that new demand comes the need for more space and more jobs.”
Construction is scheduled to be completed in November. Wessel said it plans to hire a dozen new employees within the first few months of operation and nearly 30 more in 2026 as a second shift is added.
Wessels Co. expanded to Tiffin, located about 100 miles west of Cleveland, in 2007. Known as Wessels East, the campus serves as the company’s large tank division.
