Shayla Pulliam has joined the city of Greenwood as director of economic development, serving as a primary liaison to businesses, developers and others exploring Greenwood as a potential home for future operations. She will collaborate with and assist representatives from the Johnson County Development Corp., Greenwood Redevelopment Commission, Indy Chamber, Indiana Economic Development Corp. and relevant federal agencies that coordinate economic development. Pulliam previously served as a licensed domestic relations mediator for the Viola J. Taliaferro Family and Children Mediation Clinic at the IU Maurer School of Law in Bloomington. Primarily responsible for assisting low-income families with settling legal disputes, she gained valuable experience in addressing confrontational situations.

As an ethics and compliance privacy intern for Cook Medical, Pulliam developed her communications skills leading training implementation programs for 500 employees. She also acquired legal experience handling organizational, legal and compliance tasks at PactSafe in Indianapolis.

Pulliam received her law degree from the IU Maurer School of Law with undergraduate degrees in political science and sociology from Purdue University.
