Greater Fort Wayne Inc., Allen County’s primary chamber of commerce, recently was named the 2025 Chamber of the Year by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
In a press release, Greater Fort Wayne said the award “acknowledges the organization’s commitment to growing jobs, retaining talent and supporting businesses of all sizes.”
“We are deeply humbled and honored to receive this recognition,” said John Urbahns, president and CEO of Greater Fort Wayne Inc, in the release. “This award is not just a reflection of our team’s work, but a testament to the strength, innovation, and collaboration of our entire community. We are especially grateful to our members, our board of directors, and our partners throughout Allen County whose support, leadership, and belief in this work make achievements like this possible.”
The Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives said it chooses the chamber of the year based on data benchmarks and an application that’s reviewed by peer chambers. Then comes multiple rounds of interviews by the association’s staff. There are multiple awards given each year in categories based on the size of the area the chambers serve.
Greater Fort Wayne now joins the Indy Chamber and the Southwest Indiana Chamber as Indiana chambers that have won in recent years. Greater Fort Wayne was honored at a banquet last week in Philadelphia.
