Grants Go For Preservation Projects

As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowA total of nearly $740,000 will go toward local preservation projects throughout the state. The funding comes from half federal sources and half local matches.
In all, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Historic Preservation & Archeology has announced 10 recipients.
Recipients are Ball State University, the city of Fort Wayne, city of Greenwood,Heritage Preservation Society of Putnam County, the Indiana Medical History Museum, Historic Madison Inc., the Miami of Indiana, University of Southern Indiana and Vincennes University.

The non-matching funds are from the National Park Service and are distributed through the Historic Preservation Fund Program. Over the last 42 years, more than $18 million has been awarded to Indiana projects.
