The grant will help with personnel costs for programs in Noble and Allen counties.
Parkview says its Faith-Based Intensive Outpatient Therapy project will provide an "accessible option for evidence-based outpatient therapy" that will also address emotional and spiritual well-being. It will also give uninsured and under-insured patients requiring mental health services an option for outpatient therapy, regardless of their ability to pay.
"The Lutheran Foundation’s vision is to promote spiritual, mental, and physical well-being for all people," said Marcia Haaff, CEO of The Lutheran Foundation. "This grant helps provide that mental and spiritual component while addressing an unmet need for individuals in crisis. It is a perfect fit for our vision."
The funds will be distributed through Parkview Foundation. The health system says mental health is one of its top three health priorities and its goal is to provide a broad range of mental health services.
