Grand Park to Host Little League Tournaments The 400-acre complex features 26 diamonds.

Grand Park in Westfield will play host to the 2017 Little League Baseball and Softball Central Region tournaments this summer. The announcement comes as the sports complex pushes to become the new Little League Central Region Headquarters.

The Little League Softball tournament will be held from July 24-28, while the Little League Baseball tournament will take place August 6-12. The winners of each tournament will advance to the Little League Softball World Series in Portland, Oregon and the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

"We are very grateful for the opportunity of hosting the Central Region Tournaments at the Grand Park Sports campus and are looking forward to the excitement that the tournament atmosphere creates each year," said Patrick Wilson, Little League International tournament director and senior vice president of operations and program development. "With its proximity to Indianapolis, this campus will be a great temporary home to our tournaments, as our staff and volunteers continue to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for all the participating players and coaches."

Little League says it continues to review bids for the new permanent location of the Central Region Headquarters. Grand Park submitted its bid in December after Little League announced it was planning to relocate the headquarters from its Indianapolis location.

Cathedral High School announced in February it had purchased the property of the former headquarters. Little League says it expects to name a new location by the end of the calendar year.
