Graham Named Indiana State Poet Laureate

The Indiana Arts Commission in Indianapolis has named Matthew Graham the new Indiana State Poet Laureate. He succeeds Adrian Matejka and begins his two-year term this month.
Graham was selected by a committee of representatives from Indiana’s major institutions of higher education. He recently retired from the University of Southern Indiana, where he taught creative writing, contemporary literature and freshman composition.
Graham holds several statewide honors including a Pushcart Prize, an Academy of American Poets Award, two grants from the Indiana Arts Commission, and the Artist of the Year Award from the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana.
