The event in Indianapolis will focus on Kinetrex Energy, which is a subsidiary of Citizens that provides liquefied natural gas. The utility launched the unit in July to help the state become a leader in LNG and deal with the increasing cost of diesel fuel and gasoline.
Citizens says LNG is believed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 20 percent and costs between 35-40 percent less than diesel.
The utility also says market research suggests LNG demand in the Midwest is expected to hit at least 500,000 gallons a day by 2020.
