The International Center has selected Governor Eric Holcomb as the 2018 International Citizen of the Year. Board Chair Marsha Stone cites Holcomb’s work to attract foreign direct investment to the state, saying it "enriches all of our communities through the infusion of culture and diversity."
The award, which began in 1985, recognizes Hoosiers who have contributed to a world view in Indiana in areas including business, culture, education, government, research, sports and community service. Holcomb is the 32nd recipient of the award.
Holcomb, the 51st governor of Indiana, is a United States Navy veteran and a former advisor to Governor Mitch Daniels and Senator Dan Coats. He will officially receive the award on August 23 at the annual International Citizen of the Year Award Dinner at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis.
