GOP Caucus Taps Lehman For Floor Leader

A new Indiana House majority floor leader is in place. Matt Lehman (R-79) will succeed Jud McMillin (R-68), who resigned last week.
Our partners at WIBC-FM Indianapolis/Network Indiana report Lehman will be the third majority leader in three years.
In a statement, House Speaker Brian Bosma (R-88) says "Representative Lehman has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those he represents. Leading by example, he has deservedly earned the respect of his colleagues, and I am confident that he will be a valuable asset to our leadership team."
Lehman’s district includes Adams County and parts of Allen and Wells counties.
A partner at Bixler Insurance Inc. in Berne, Lehman served as Chairman of the Insurance Committee during the previous session. He was also deputy speaker pro tempore.
The House Republican Caucus says floor leader responsibilities include assisting leaders in executing decisions and "steering floor action to accomplish the caucus’ legislative priorities."
