Google Exec to Speak at Purdue

An executive with Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOGL) is returning to his alma mater next week. Jim Miller, vice president of operations at Google, will give the keynote speech at Purdue University’s summer commencement ceremony.
Miller graduated from Purdue with a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering and earned two master’s degrees at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He joined Google in 2010 after serving as executive vice president of Sanmina-SCI Corp. (Nasdaq: SANM). He has also worked for other companies including Amazon, IBM and Cisco.
"I am honored to go back to my alma mater and talk to the graduates about how my education, particularly my time at Purdue, has helped me in my career," said Miller. "It is an exciting time for these students as they embark on the next part of their lives. Having a Purdue degree will be a great plus in whatever they decide to do."
The summer commencement ceremony will be held August 6 at the Elliot Hall of Music.
