The board of governors for Vincennes-based Good Samaritan has approved the $875,000 purchase of a building in the Knox County city. The health system says the facility will initially be used as a COVID-19 testing site for Knox County.
The testing site, which is a partnership with Vincennes University and the Knox County Health Department, is expected to open in September.
“As our organization continues to grow and offer additional services to our patients, the purchase of this property was an opportunity we could not pass up,” said Rob McLin, president of Good Samaritan. “We have a multitude of different options we can use the space for and will be considering all of them in the next three to six months.”
Good Samaritan says it will announce the opening date and hours for the testing site soon. The health system did not specify plans for the facility once the COVID testing is completed.
