Good Samaritan Expanding Primary Care Services
The hospital's board approved the strategy Tuesday night.

Subscribe NowThe board of governors for Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes has approved a purchase aimed at expanding the hospital’s primary care clinic. The hospital is investing more than $300,000 to acquire the building, which will allow the clinic to offer more services, including dental care and mental health care.
The building is located just across the street from Good Samaritan’s main campus in Vincennes. The hospital says the expanded facility will allow internal medicine and psychology residents to see patients as well.
"Improving access to care is a top priority identified in our Community Health Needs Assessment and the purchase of this property, along with our medical residency program, is going to help us meet this need," Chief Executive Officer Rob McLin said in a news release. “We want to ensure that people in our communities have access to health care no matter their circumstances. With the added clinic space and the addition of our residents, our Primary Care Clinic will be able to treat even more patients who are uninsured or underinsured."
Good Samaritan is part of the Graduate Medical Education consortium, announced in 2014, in which the hospital will receive post-graduate residency students from the Indiana University School of Medicine and Marian University. The hospital says the expanded clinic will help those students involved in the program.
The Good Samaritan Foundation is donating the funds to acquire the building.
