The city of South Bend received one qualifying offer for a municipal golf course it is trying to sell. The South Bend Tribune reports Acquisition Group LLC bid just over $1.6 million for Blackthorn Golf Club, which was the minimum amount. The price is based on two independent appraisals.

The publication reports two other offers were turned in, but one was passed the deadline and one, Middlebury Bartel and Co. Auctioneers, showed interested in auctioning the property.

The buyers intend to build a hotel in place of a current practice hole.

In 2012, Blackthorn hosted a three-day Road to the LPGA tour event.
