GMC Unveils Truck Built in Roanoke

The new truck is the beginning of the AT4 brand, which will be displayed on every vehicle in the lineup over the next two years. It comes with 6.2 liter V-8 or Duramax 3.0 liter inline-six turbo-diesel paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and includes a new 2-inch factory installed suspension lift, and a full suite of advanced safety features. The new AT4 also features a newly-designed tailgate, which features six functions and positions, including a standing workstation mode. “The 2019 Sierra is the boldest expression ever for GMC’s full-size pickup, and the new AT4 reinforces its essence of capability with distinctive, athletic cues,” said Matt Noone, director of design, GMC Exteriors. “From every angle, it conveys GMC’s premium yet functional design language.”
The Fort Wayne Assembly plant employs more than 3,600 and is considered one of the company’s most productive North American facilities. The plant has secured several awards in its 31 years, including the 2014 North American Truck of the Year (Silverado). The AT4 goes on sale in the fall.
