Global Publication Notes Indiana Fulbright Scholars

Several universities in Indiana are being recognized for the number of students a high-profile international studies program. This year’s list of "Institutions Producing the Most Fulbright Scholars" from The Chronicle of Higher Education includes Indiana University, University of Notre Dame, Butler University and DePauw University.

In all, the publication sorts the number of scholarship recipients into nine categories and details the number of students applying for the program and the number accepted.

On its U.S. list, Indiana schools were noted among three peer categories:

Research Institutions

Indiana University- 55 applied, 19 accepted

University of Notre Dame- 63 applied, 14 accepted

Master’s Institutions

Butler University- 22 applied, 3 accepted

Bachelor’s Institutions

DePauw University- 21 applied, 4 accepted

The Fulbright Program was launched in the mid-1940s and has helped more than 360,000 participants study abroad. It operates in more than 140 countries.
