Global Manufacturer to Shut Down in Michigan City

Michigan City-based Pall Filter Specialists Inc. has announced plans to close its plant before the end of the year. In a notice to the state, the filtration product and solution provider says the move will affect nearly 30 employees.
The first group of workers is set to lose their jobs November 15. The company says the closure is expected to be permanent. You can connect to the notice to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development by clicking here.
Filter Specialists Inc. was acquired last year by New York-based Pall Corp. At that time, Pall called FSI a "recognized leader" in the industry, serving industrial paint, chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas and food and beverage markets. It manufactures steel and plastic filter vessels. FSI has three other locations throughout the U.S. and Global operations in Europe, Asia and Australia.
More than two weeks ago, Washington D.C.-based Danaher Corp. (NYSE: DHR) completed its acquisition of Pall Corp. The deal involved merging Pall into a subsidiary and removing Pall from trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
