Ireland-based Covidien Ltd. (NYSE: COV) says it will move 100 positions from Colorado to its technical services facility in Plainfield. The company says the transfer will take place over the next 12-18 months.

In line with the restructuring plans we announced last fall, we have notified a small group of employees in Boulder, Colorado that their positions will be relocated to Plainfield, Indiana. Covidien's Plainfield location is our centralized technical services facility. Establishing a concentrated function in Plainfield will deliver a unified Covidien experience for our customers. This transfer will take place over the next 12-18 months and impacts approximately 100 employees in technical services.

Covidien is committed to treating employees with dignity and respect. We understand that changes like this are difficult and we are sensitive to the needs of affected employees. They will be eligible for severance as well as outplacement assistance services.
