Glick Philanthropies Grants to Address Food Insecurity

Indianapolis-based Glick Philanthropies has awarded more than $300,000 in grants through its Feeding Those in Need program. The funding, announced in observance of World Food Day, aims to address food insecurity by providing meals and self-sufficiency skills to children, families and seniors.

The grants are being awarded to 51 organizations in nine states. The recipients include food pantries, community centers, community gardens, and others in communities where Gene B. Glick Co. properties are located. 

"Glick Philanthropies is deeply committed to the issue of food insecurity because we view access to healthy, nutritious food as more than just a basic need, it’s also an integral part of the journey to self-sufficiency," said David Barrett, chief executive officer of the Glick Family Foundation. "Far too often, food insecurity arises for people as they struggle with competing needs, such as housing, utilities, transportation or medical care."

To date, Glick Philanthropies has awarded $4.2 million to organizations through the Feeding Those in Need program. The grant recipients in the most recent round of funding include:
