A longtime television news anchor in the Lafayette market is leaving. Gina Quattrocchi, who has spent nearly 20 years with WLFI in West Lafayette, signed off Wednesday morning. The Lafayette native is a Purdue University graduate and began working for the station in 1998.

Ten years after starting with WLFI, she left the business for two years before returning to the anchor chair and launching a community-focused series of stories called "Heroes Among Us."

During her on-air farewell, Quattrocchi said "I love the community and I’m just going to miss everything." She added "thank you to the viewers at home. I wish I could tell you without crying, but thank you for letting me in your home all these years."
