A new trail planned in Gibson County will connect residents and visitors to the 10 farmers markets located in the county, according to the Gibson County Visitors & Tourism Bureau.
The Gibson County Farmer’s Market Trail, developed by the county, Purdue Extension and the visitors and tourism bureau, will allow people to make a day out of shopping for local produce, selecting fresh meats, discovering more local vendors and finding new recipes specific to cook with the homegrown items.
“It’s a great way to promote our county’s homegrown favorites and rural heritage to out-of-town visitors as well as provide local residents with fresh produce throughout the year,” said Eric Heidenreich, executive director of the Gibson County Visitors & Tourism Bureau, in a news release.
Stops on the trail include:
- Berry’s Produce and Country Market in Princeton
- Legacy Taste of the Garden in Princeton
- Lynch’s Country Barn in Princeton
- Mae’s Market in Owensville
- Ritter Farms in Owensville
- Kenny Dewig Meats in Owensville
- Thomas Family Acres in Owensville
- Dewig Meats in Haubstadt
- The Paw Paw Patch in Francisco
- Decker’s Berries in Hazleton.
A map with the locations of every stop on the trail can be found online.
