GetGo Calling Hoosiers to Break World Record

Giant Eagle Inc.’s GetGo will Tuesday host a “Make It to Break It” event in an attempt to win the Guinness World Record title for “Most People Making Sandwiches Simultaneously.” The event runs from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The previous record was set in 2016 by mobile app TangoTab when 2,586 people came together to break the record in Dallas, Texas.
Getgo says all sandwiches made at the event will be donated to Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana.
The company says the event is an opportunity for GetGo to celebrate its recent expansion with Hoosiers.
“It’s been such an honor to become a part of the Indianapolis community since opening our first GetGo location in 2015. Now, as we expand our footprint across the state, we are excited to bring Hoosiers together to break a world record and have a lot of fun doing it,” said Dan Donovan, GetGo spokesperson, in a news release.
The event is free to the public and everyone who participates will be part of an Official Guinness World Records attempt and receive a commemorative t-shirt.
Randomly selected participants will receive free sandwiches for a year.
The event is open to all ages, and only those ages 16 and up can handle food product. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants cannot wear open-toed shoes.
