German filtration company relocating North American HQ to Dearborn County

BWF Envirotec, an industrial filtration company based in Germany, is planning to relocate its North American headquarters and manufacturing facility to Greendale, Mayor Vince Karsteter announced Tuesday.
The company, currently operating out of Hebron, Kentucky, is investing $9 million in the move, which is expected to bring 60 jobs to the Dearborn County city.
BWF is building a 65,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on Minger Drive in Greendale, with completion expected by February 2027, according to a news release from One Dearborn Inc., the economic development organization for Dearborn County.
“BWF Envirotec took a strategic decision to continue our development in the U.S. at the new site in Greendale,” BWF Group Managing Partner Philipp von Waldenfels said in the release. “Greendale offers perfect circumstances for our company to generate further growth.”
According to an agreement between the company and the Greendale Redevelopment Commission, the new jobs will come with average annual ages and benefits of around $75,000 per year.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. is offering BWF up to $300,000 in conditional tax credits, which the company will not be eligible to claim until Hoosier workers are hired for the new jobs.

Founded in 1892, BWF Envirotec is a division of BWF Group in Offingen, Germany. The company employs about 1,800 people at 16 sites over four continents.
The new Greendale facility will mark the only North American headquarters of an internationally operating company in Dearborn County.
“There is great German heritage in our city and region, which makes BWF’s location decision that much more exciting,” Greendale City Councilor Mike McLaughlin said. “With this partnership, the redevelopment commission and city look forward to exploring and strengthening economic ties between Greendale and Germany.”
