George K. Baum & Co. has named Matt Ruess vice president. He previously served as chief financial officer at Crown Point Community School Corp. for 10 years. Ruess also previously worked for the Fayette County School Corp., Hamilton Southeastern Schools, Metropolitan School District of Washington Township and Prudential Securities. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics at Iowa State University and his master’s degree in business administration at Butler University.
