Gen Con Sells Out Four-Day, Saturday Badges

One of the largest conventions in Indiana is expecting another large attendance figure this year. Gen Con, which begins Thursday and runs through Sunday, says it has sold out of its four-day and Saturday badges, and anticipates selling out of Thursday badges before the event begins.
Gen Con says it has set a record for the number of four-day badge holders, though a specific number was not immediately announced. In addition to the online sales, the convention plans to sell limited amounts of remaining single-day badges at the Indiana Convention Center, beginning at noon Wednesday.
"Our team has really figured out operations and event planning to allow for increased attendance while still maintaining the same level of comfort for everyone as they move about the convention," said David Hoppe, president of Gen Con. "As always, we want to allow the maximum number of attendees to experience Gen Con without diminishing the event’s quality one iota."
Last year, Gen Con saw more than 60,000 unique attendees and generated an estimated $70 million in economic impact, according to Visit Indy. The convention is scheduled to remain in Indy through 2023.
