General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) has confirmed it will end all operations in Fort Wayne. The company says the phase-out of two locations will begin next January. Our partners at 21 Alive WPTA in Fort Wayne report GE spent the last few weeks considering union proposals before deciding to move forward with plans to leave the city. Ninety workers are expected to lose their jobs as the operations are consolidated with locations in Mexico.

The decision well end GE's presence in Fort Wayne, which goes back more than 100 years.

Roughly 10,000 people worked for the company during its peak time in the city.
