Today is the final day at work for more than 100 employees at Bloomington GE Appliances. The Herald Times reports 131 people are being let go, down from the 160 originally planned. The company originally announced the cuts in September, citing a drop in demand for side-by-side refrigerators.

GE planned to close the plant in 2010, but ultimately decided instead to invest $93 million into the operation and create 200 jobs.
