The announcement follows a successful pilot of the gBETA program in Indianapolis, which began in February 2018. The spring 2019 cohort for gBETA Indy began in March. gener8tor says it plans to run a minimum of six gBETA Indiana programs each year for the next two years.
The gBETA program is a free accelerator for early-stage companies. Each cohort features five teams and gives participants individualized coaching and access to gener8tor’s national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners and investors.
"I’m looking forward to bringing the gBETA opportunity to companies who were unable to participate in the Indy program because they weren’t located in central Indiana," said Chelsea Linder, director of gBETA Indy, who will lead the accelerator’s statewide efforts. "I truly believe accelerators are the best way to set a startup on a path to success, and supporting thirty Indiana companies each year will have a sizeable economic impact on our state."
The programming will continue will gBETA Indy’s fall cohort. Additional programs are set to take place in Indianapolis and 2-3 other locations throughout the state, which will be identified at a later date.
gener8tor says, since launching in spring 2018, gBETA Indy has helped 15 companies raise more than $3.4 million and create 76 jobs.
gener8tor Partner Abby Taubner talks about the success central Indiana companies have already had with the program.
