Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson is set to unveil an economic development plan for University Park neighborhood. She will be joined by representatives from local banks and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. at Wednesday's event. University Park is already home to two universities and multiple businesses and community organizations.

The event is set for Wednesday, April 30 at 9:00 a.m. local time. Representatives from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago are also expected to participate.
