Karen Freeman-Wilson joins current members, including Ivy Tech Community College President Sue Ellspermann and Techpoint CEO Mike Langellier,
WGU Indiana Chancellor Allison Barber says Freeman-Wilson has been a "tremendous resource" for the university in northwest Indiana. "WGU Indiana credits our mayors and local officials for strengthening the workforces in their cities and connecting their citizens to new opportunities."
"To enact real change in our communities it is vital for all people to have affordable access to higher education," said Freeman-Wilson. "WGU Indiana provides an avenue to a college degree for the residents of Gary and so many other communities in Indiana. I’m proud to advise the university in this capacity and to join so many accomplished leaders in doing so."
The board is comprised of leaders from academic, business and government sectors. The board also includes Gerry Dick, president of Grow INdiana Media Ventures, the parent of Inside INdiana Business.
