The Gary Jet Center will Wednesday celebrate the launch of its new Corporate Flight Center. Officials from the GJC and the state will discuss the economic opportunities expected with the addition of the facility, which was first announced in January.
The flight center is located at the GJC’s Fixed Base Operation at the Gary/Chicago International Airport. When plans for the facility were announced, officials said a small number of jobs would be created as a result.
The new facility features a glass-walled lobby, multiple pilots’ lounges, a business center, conference room and kitchen facilities.
The launch will feature guests including Rollie Helmling, senior vice president of global industry & trade development at the Indiana Economic Development Corp., and Joe Elsener, director of intergovernmental affairs for Governor Eric Holcomb, among other officials.
