Gary/Chicago International Airport Manager Delbert Brown has resigned. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report he will move to Detroit to spend more time with his family.

AvPorts, which is the airport’s private operator, hired Brown to run the facility in August 2014. During his time with the airport, the publication reports he implemented new reporting procedures. He also oversaw the return of the Gary Air Show after two years and a 33 percent increase in aircraft operations.

The move to Detroit marks a return for Brown. He was director of the Detroit City Airport from 2002-2010.
