AvPorts, which is the airport’s private operator, hired Brown to run the facility in August 2014. During his time with the airport, the publication reports he implemented new reporting procedures. He also oversaw the return of the Gary Air Show after two years and a 33 percent increase in aircraft operations.
The move to Detroit marks a return for Brown. He was director of the Detroit City Airport from 2002-2010.
