The Indiana Gaming Commission says monthly casino revenue decreased in April. The agency says adjusted gross revenue dropped to around $192 million, compared to more than $207 million during the same period a year earlier. Hoosier Park Racing and Casino in Anderson and Indiana Grand Racing and Casino in Shelbyville were the only two of the state's 13 venues reporting increases. This has been the case the last three months. State regulations permit racinos to take an 8.5 percent deduction.

East Chicago's Ameristar Casino reported nearly identical revenue last month as it did in April 2013.

Horseshoe Casino Hammond's adjusted gross revenue of $38.7 million in April is down from more than $41.5 million during the same period in 2013. Horseshoe Southern Indiana's revenue decreased to $23.6 million, from $23.8 million.

Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg took in over $16.7 million in revenue last month, compared to $23.4 million in April 2013.

The two other casinos in the area have also been affected by the opening of Horseshoe Cincinnati last March. Rising Star in Rising Sun reported $4.2 million in adjusted gross revenue last month, which was down from $5.9 million one year ago. Belterra Casino in Florence was down to $8.9 million, compared to $12.7 million. Another Cincinnati operation, Belterra Park Gaming & Entertainment Center, just recently debuted after $300 million was poured into turning an existing horse track into a racino.
