Funds Lift Evansville Tech Developer

A tech startup in Evansville has secured a $1 million boost. Motivating Systems LLC develops sales-as-a-service platforms that are designed to help organizations motivate their people through rewards and positive reinforcement. The funding comes from Indianapolis-based Elevate Ventures and other contributors who are not being named.
Motivating Systems launched in 2015 and has grown from one customer, a middle school in Vanderburgh County, to more than 1,000 schools in 47 states and seven countries. Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Epperson says "the investment by Elevate Ventures and others is going to enable us to reach and help more organizations. I have worked in technology for more than 15 years and have never had such a profound personal connection to the success stories of our customers than I have with Motivating Systems. And with our own internal use of Workplace Rewards, we have improved and enhanced our own office culture and employee engagement. We truly want to help other organizations experience the same results."
The funds, the company says, will help grow its team and reach additional international markets. Over the last two years, Motivating Systems has expanded from seven employees to 21. It has launched Workplace Rewards, a platform designed for organizations outside of K-12 education.
Elevate Ventures says Motivating Systems is one of 43 startups that it worked with through its three-year, $2.5 million Elevate Southwest Indiana partnership with the Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana that launched last year.
