Family and Social Services Administration Secretary Jennifer Sullivan has joined the Regenstrief Institute’s Board of Directors.

Governor Eric Holcomb appointed her as secretary in 2017. Prior to that she served as the deputy state health commissioner and director for health outcomes at the Indiana State Department of Health. 

Sullivan continues to practice as a pediatrician, working in the emergency department at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health. She is also an adjunct clinical professor of emergency medicine and adjunct clinical professor of pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine.

In her previous positions with state health, Sullivan led the State’s health initiatives surrounding infant mortality, smoking and obesity. She also oversaw the outreach efforts for the HIV outbreak in Scott County and the lead contamination in East Chicago.

Sullivan received her undergraduate degree from the University of Houston Honors College and her Master in Public Health at Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health at IUPUI. She earned her medical degree at IU School of Medicine.
